4-1-08 Guide Brooks Rogers Lake Fork Report

Fishing on Lake Fork for the past few days has been really good. The water clarity is stained on the main lake and stained to muddy in the creeks(depending on which creek). Yesterday we had 24 bass the biggest being a 7.2 and we had two other fish over 6lbs. Most fish were caught on a weightless Wave Worm Tiki Stick in black/blue fleck and several came on a buzzbait. All of our fish came in very dirty water and most fish were in 2 feet of water or less. Most fish were caught in little shallow flat pockets with shallow shoreline weeds. Today we had different conditions. We had a north wind while a front was blowing through. The first part of the day was slow until I did a little moving around. I finally moved to a little clearer water and that seemed to be the ticket. We ended up with 25 fish, none were over 5 lbs. but most were small slot fish. We caught these fish around the same kind of shallow weeds on the same baits as yesterday. We did end up catching a big portion of our fish this afternoon on a Yellow Magic topwater. That bait will be very productive from now for the next couple of months. It will catch numbers as well as big fish. Last year during the Toyota Texas Bass Classic my team caught the largest team stringer of the day on day two all on a Yellow Magic. I have a few days left open in April and May if you would like to book a trip. I have April 24, 28, and 30 still available, and in May I have these days available: 1,9,11,15,26,27,28,29,30.
