John Morris Lake Fork Report AUGUST

Sorry for the late update John

FROM: J & M Guide Service
WEEK: 20 – 26 August, 2012

Things have not changed very much this week. The water temperature remained steady at 85 degrees and the water clarity is still really good.

The Largemouth Bass really liked the Zoom 8 inch magnum watermelon/red worm this week. We found the best fish this week in 4 to 6 feet of water next to weed lines. The fish would attack to worm just as it came out of the heavy weeds and started to fall. The secondary pattern for Largemouth Bass this week was the Tackle Factory 4 inch spoon. We caught most of the fish with the spoon in 18 to 24 foot of water. Chrome and blue worked the best. The spoon will give you a mixed bag of fish, including; Bass, Crappie, Yellow Bass and an occasional Catfish.

The Crappie continued to be slow this week. Small minnows were their choice this week.

The Brim bite was still really good this week. Crickets and small red worms seemed to work the best. You need to think light line, (4 to 6 pound test worked the best).

The Catfish bite was still slow this week. Minnows and cut bait worked the best in tree tops in 14 to 18 foot of water.

While you at Lake Fork, make sure you stop into Lake Fork Marina and stock up on the Tackle Factory’s 4 and 6 inch spoons. Don’t forget to stock on lots of water while you are there.
