This week we had about 3 inches of rain.  The creeks are heavily stained to muddy and the south end of the lake is stained.  The water temperatures went from the low 60’s to the mid 50’s, “not good”!  The jib bite was good the first part of the week but then turned to a spinnerbait and rattletrap bite later this week.  A few fish were being caught on swimbaits.  The best spinnerbait I found was a 3/8 ounce spinnerbait with a chartreuse/white/orange skirt with gold hammered Colorado blades.  The best colored rattle trap was the Rayburn red with a gold top.  A few fish were being caught on a chartreuse and white with gold blade chatter bait, a good back up bait.  Our rod and reel combination we used this week was a Duckett Ghost rod and an ABU Garcia Orra SX reel spooled with Stren 17 pound test line.  While you are at Lake Fork, you might check out the Duckett rods at Lake Fork Marina.  They also have a great line of chatter baits and spinner baits.

The White bass are still in the main lake on top of brush pile.  They can be caught with Joe Spaits Flashtail jigging spoon or a straight minnow rig.  Look for them in 24 foot of water.

The Crappie fishing was still a little slow this week.  However they still could be caught with the good ole minnow rig in 18 foot of water over and a round brush piles.

No report on the Catfish this week.

The Bass and Crappie spawn is just about here.  I still have a few days open in March and April for guided Bass and Crappie trips.  Give us a call at (903) 413-6919 or E-mail us at  Keep a tight line and have a great fishing week.
